Joost van der Vecht

Joost van der Vecht started his career in 1996 as a product designer at Arnold Merckx Design. Here he designed for various renowned European design labels, including the Dutch brand Pastoe. Later he works as art director for Pastoe where he worked closely with designers and architects such as Naoto Fukasawa, Maarten van Severen and Vincent van Duysen.

In 2013 he started collaborations from his own studio with various Dutch labels including Not Only White, Loof, Occony and Arco. Joost has an intuitive sense of aesthetics and the right proportions. In a very natural way he always seems to easily find the essence within form and material use. Combined with his technical knowledge and years of experience, this creates objects that feel functional, timeless and harmonious
